WAY

The following project is an extension of the Church of San Pietro in Tuscany. The extensions aim to take advantage of the pre existing historical and natural conditions. The extensions provide new spaces for pilgrims, locals, as well as tourists who decide to visit the church. The church marks a destination of one's spiritual journey and sparks another way to greater belief. The inspiration has emerged from the long journey that pilgrims take to reach the church. The idea is to offer pilgrims the opportunity to clear and reflect their minds through an architectural promenade. The project is based on the three axes, which follow the South, West and East side of the site. Each of the three axes follow a different path and view. The South shows a field, the West shows the beautiful city scenery, and lastly the East shows the lavish trees. The masses naturally merge and connect the new buildings with the church. The new extension not only brings life to the church but enhances it.
