소개 및 담당과목Subjects

Professor Jusin Park (ARB, RIBA) is a UK and Netherlands-registered architect and the founder of Studio JU-SIN, established in 2023. Prior to his current academic role at Korea University, he gained extensive experience at internationally recognised practices including David Chipperfield Architects (2018–2023), Caruso St John Architects (2017–2018), Adam Khan Architects (2016), and the Architecture Research Unit (2015). He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Korea University, a Master of Arts and Part 2 Diploma degree from London Metropolitan University, where he studied under Professor Florian Beigel and Philip Christou.

During his time at David Chipperfield Architects, Jusin served as a Senior Project Architect and led a range of international projects to success. These include the Dallas Museum of Art (Dallas), the K-Project (Seoul), the Dairy Road residential development (Canberra), and an office development and an embassy project in Central London, among others.

Jusin has also taught at the University of East London and has been invited to give lectures and participate in design reviews hosted by institutions such as the Architecture Foundation, CASS, the University of Melbourne, the University of Seoul, and ETH Zurich.

His research-based design practice regards architecture as a spatial framework that shapes human life through its interaction with habitation. His approach emphasizes environmental, economic, and social sustainability, envisioning buildings as open-ended systems with long life spans that can accommodate changing uses over time, where interventions into the existing physical, ecological, and social context are approached with care to ensure responsible and continuous engagement. A central theme in his work is architecture that embraces time. He regards the architect not merely as a designer of completed aesthetic forms, but as a steward of a building’s entire life cycle—from preserving the past to enabling future adaptation and fostering long-term reuse. This perspective informs both his academic research and professional work, from early thesis projects to major built commissions.
